I’ve written an article on BlogHer about the top 2012 Food Blogging trends that need to stay in 2012. There’s a slight possibility I might actually get all the way up to 15 readers today, as compared to my usual 10. If so, welcome! I’d like to share a few of my favorite posts:

I hope you’ll stay awhile. I have an RSS feed. You can follow me on Twitter. I haven’t even begun to use it yet, but I do have a Facebook page. I promise if I get more than 10 likes, I’ll actually start using it.

Someone shared this on FB (it’s great by the way) and so here I am. I’ll share it, too. You’ll definitely get more than 15…
Thank you! I had fun writing it but it was my first paid article so it was a bit terrifying as well.
Your article got shared on Twitter and it had me giggling all the way. It was funny and true and I found myself fervently nodding to some of the things you wrote about. I’m glad to have found it because it led me to your blog. I love the way you write.
Consider me a fan, most certainly a reader
Thank you so much. The comment about loving the way I write choked me up a little. Thank you for that.
You did a wonderful job writing that article on BlogHer. I really enjoyed reading it, I was laughing the whole way and I felt right at home when reading it, so there is no need to worry. And you will probably get a lot more than 15 readers. I look forward to seeing more posts from you Kristina.
Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun writing it because I’m so guilty of some of them. You’re a total sweetheart!
Read your article on BlogHer – you’re hilarious! I couldn’t stop laughing! With your kind of humor and writing skills I can’t believe you say you have only 10 readers a day!
I might have a few more than that.
And thank you! You’re very sweet!
I’m staying!
{pours you a bourbon}
Hi. David Lebovitz shared your top 15 blogger trends for 2012 that need to go, and I loved it, and so have now liked your FB page, and subscribed to your RSS feed. I have a twitter account but never remember to use it!
Really enjoy your blogs! Thanks.
Thank you! When I found out David Lebovitz had posted my post, I was gobsmacked to say the least. These last couple of days have been kind of crazy (but in a good way)!
Just saw a link to your article on shutterbean.com and you are spot-on (especially about the giveaways!).
I’m sticking around and I’m sharing this with my buddies as well.
Kira – thank you! I willingly admit that if KitchenAide contacted me, I would toss mixers at all of you left & right!
LOL I think we all would but still…someone had to say it!
Hi Kristina! I found your blog through FB by way of David Lebovitz sharing the link! I’d say you hit the bigtime
Seriously though, I loved your article and laughed out loud a few times! Glad someone put this out there. Congrats on it being you!
I think I’ll stay awhile and do some browsing to learn more about you. Happy New Year!!
Yeah – that mention totally shocked me. I sat here with my hand over my mouth for 15 minutes.
And thank you so much! Happy New Year!
You are totally making me laugh. Saw you on Twitter this AM in a conversation with some of my favorite tweeters, clicked over, and am so glad I did! Going to check out your BlogHer article now! Those of us who are head over heels in love with everything about food but can’t cook and develop recipes all day every day and will still eat Cheez-its have to stick together!
Thank you! I think I have only “developed” 2 or 3 recipes that I loved. And I will totally eat the hell out of Cheez-its with you!
Great list. We will all see some of ourselves in it (although hopefully not in all of it; I can so not get behind either cake pops or candy in or on top of every conceivable baked good possible).
I was mostly surprised at those that were so defensive…I thought your tongue in cheek approach pretty evident and laughed all the while staging my props for a shot this morning.
I don’t know how I missed this comment. I didn’t get a lot of direct negative feedback, but I heard that several people, who never bothered to say anything to me personally, were just aghast that I would tell them how to blog. I also think they just got all pissy when the first item was baker’s twine, and they decided to be offended throughout the entire article.
I thought the fact that it was very tongue in cheek was pretty obvious. Plus, I crowd sourced ideas from a lot of other bloggers who were all laughing with me at how many of these trends we ourselves have done.
I think my last few paragraphs made it clear that bloggers need to quit doing what everyone else is doing and do what they want to do. If that involves baker’s twine, than more power to you. But it makes me sad when so many blogs are just slightly different copies of all of their friends. I’ve had so much more fun since I stopped giving a crap about how I was ‘supposed’ to blog.
I also think some bloggers take themselves way too seriously and any time an article or post pokes fun at food blogging, they are absolutely outraged by the rest of us who can laugh with and at ourselves.
That list was fantastic, and now you’re in my reader–I’ve been looking for new-to-me blogs to follow over the last few weeks, and yours will fit the bill nicely.
Also? Cheez-Its are the shit, and anyone who says they aren’t are clearly lying to themselves.
Thank you Elizabeth! And yes, Cheez-its are the shit, and I kind of use this as a litmus test for whether or not to become friends with someone. Although I do have my eye on this recipe: http://www.fearlesshomemaker.com/2012/11/homemade-cheez-its/
You’re so big time! Thank you so much for not naming bacon on your list. I would hate for us to not be friends anymore.
It’s a little nuts. Remember when you said you’d be glad to sit down & talk with me about writing? I would really love to do that soon if you can. And bacon will live forever.
Um, hang out with you more? Absolutely 100 percent yes! I’m going to be out of the country from Jan. 10-22, but I say we do something soon after I return. I guess this is a good time to mention I was going to try to friend your personal account on FB since I see you commenting on mutual friends’ posts from time to time. Here it comes.
I think you sent it but somehow when I accepted it, it disappeared into the internet ether. Sent one back.
Nope, I got it. I presume you’ve connected which one I am since I’ve since commented on one of your posts.
Found you via your incredibly entertaining list… lady that was some kinda funny. I’ve decided to stay and hang around for awhile, only because I hear there will be bacon
There will definitely be bacon! Thanks Jennifer!
